Super Robot Chogokin SRC Daizyujin Review

Go! Go! Power Rangers~! Hello everyone! My review today is on Bandai Super Robot Chogokin Daizyujin. While Daizyujin origins from the Japanese Sentai series Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, I am sure many of us outside of Japan would know Daizyujin as the first Megazord from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series.

Daizyujin is a very nice figure in terms of its weight, articulation and overall finishing. The design gives a powerhouse feel to the robot and details are paid to the entire robot. There is quite a lot of diecast content in the chest, red partat the back, back skirt and the entire yellow and blue legs, minus the sabertooth tiger an triceratop heads.

If you observe the back of the thighs, you will see the silver parts, which are the feet of the Tyranosarus Rex. I am really impressed at the level of details paid to this piece.

The cannons on the back can be flipped up to the shoulders to simulate a firing stance. I am not sure if the DX Daizyujin toy can do the same since I do not own one. The cannons, being on ball joints, are very articulated and you can actually make them aim towards various angles.

Daizyujin also comes with a red/blue lightning attack effect part that you can attach on this head. I do not recall this attack from the Power Rangers series I watched but I guess it is perhaps one of the lesser used form of attacks. Still, the effect part is a great touch to the figure.

The mammoth head shield is one of the key accessories of Daizyujin. Look at how imposing Daizyujin is holding the shield as if he is pushing it outwards to block an incoming attack. I thought it might have been a bonus if the mammoth thrunk can be move. Alas, it is fixed.

And of course, the main weapon of Daizyujin is his sword. The sword is made entirely of plastic, which honestly I am a little disappointed in because I would love this wonderful weapon to be made of diecast. The sword is very detailed with the engravings on the side and the matt gold finishing.

With great articulation on the arms, Daizyujin can easily hold the sword with both hands and wield various awesome double hand poses.

And finally, we have the effect part for the sword that you can insert directly onto the sword to simulate the finishing move of Daizyujin.

Daizyujin is a wonderful figure and I highly recommend him, especially if you are a Power Rangers fan. This is a very popular piece and I am sure it will be a sell out.

Bandai Super Robot Chogokin SRC Mightgaine Review

Hello everyone! Welcome to another chogokin review by Professor Chogokin. today I am going to review Bandai's Super Robot Chogokin SRC Mightgaine~! Mightgaine is the lead robot from the Brave series anime "Brave Express Mightgaine" by Sunrise. Mightgaine is the 2nd lead robot in the brave series to be released under the Super Robot Chogokin line after King of Braves GaoGaiGar.

Mightgaine is a very well-made figure with great details and finishing. In terms of diecast content, there isn't much. Diecast is only present in the feet and the 2 black parts on the sides of the legs. Still, the figure packs a decent weight and is very well articulated.

Mightgaine comes with a fair amount of accessories, mainly swords; 1 silver sword, 2 gold swords that can combine into a twin sword, 1 gold sword with giant blade, 2 open fists, 2 fists for holding the swords and 1 finger pointing right fist.

Articulation for Mightgaine is fantastic. Both arms and legs are extremely posable, allowing you to recreate dynamic and awesomes poses limited only by your imagination.

As seen above, Mightgaine can easily hold his swords with both hands and bend his legs to extreme angles.

What used to be poses that you can only admire on anime, can now be recreated with ease with the wonderful articulation that Mightgaine has. Just look at the pose above. Mightgaine is posed beautifully and even the shoulder pads that usually hinder movement for most figures, do not pose any problems at all with Mightgaine.

The giant blade is a signature Mightgaine finishing move in the anime. Mightgaine usually leaps to the sky and comes charging down hard on the enemy, slicing it mercilessly into half.

As mentioned earlier, I can't help but be deeply impressed by the wonderful work done on giving Mightgaine great articulation that allows us to recreate all those extreme poses. Just posing them is like making my childhood dream of having well-articulated robot toys come true. Well, not 100% true yet because I would very much like them to be perfect transformation as well. I believe this is something that will become a reality in the near future, though the cost of making one might be an issue to sell it in mass market.

Apart from being a great figure, Mightgaine comes with a free trident stand that can hold up to 3 SRC robots. This trident stand is simply amazing and a great freebie at it. It is not certain if Bandai will sell the trident stand on its own or giving it as a free gift in future releaes. I am not taking any risks and got 2 Mightgaines to get another trident stand.

Mightgaine is now available on sale in http://www.ishop2go.com

It is selling like hot cakes so get it while stocks last before it is sold out.

Bandai Tamashi Web Limited Super Robot Chogokin SRC Gekiryujin

Today's review is on Bandai Tamashi Web Limited Super Robot Chogokin SRC Gekiryujin. Gekiryujin is only available through pre-order and is a figure that I have been looking forward to, as I am a big fan of the GaoGaiGar series.

Like his brother Choryujin, Gekiryujin comes in nice metallic finishing colors of green and yellow. In fact, both figures have the exact same engineering and design, the difference only in their accessories or weapons. Gekiryujin comes with a mixer barrel for his right hand and a sort of shovel attached to his left hand.

Gekiryujin also comes with spare shoulder pads, whose windscreen can be remove to insert the boosters into the shoulder pads for its space flight mode. Unlike Choryujin who got the boosters as a separate limited edition pack, the boosters come together with Gekiryujin in ths limited set.

Gekiryujin looks marvellous standing beside Choryujin. The shine on their metallic finishing is absolutely stunning.

The key feature of Gekiryujin is that he can cross combine with Choryujin, just like what they did in the anime. The result of this symmetric docking combination is Genryujin and Gouryujin.

It is a lot of fun, mix combining the 2. And if you have 2 set of each, you can have 4 different figures. There are a few nice touches by Bandai, such as giving new chest parts tot go along with the 4 different combinationa.

For Gekiryujin and Choryujin, we have the yellow & green and red and blue colors on the chest plate. for Genryujin and Gouryujin, the chest pieces are in blue & yellow and green and red respectively.

Gekiryujin being an online exclusive is not easy to get if you are not a resident of Japan. And getting from secondary markets or 3rd parties makes the toy cost at least 2-3 times its orginal cost.

Bandai Tamashi Web Limited Super Robot Chogokin SRC Go Nagai Wonderland Museum Mazinger Z Devilman Color

Today I am going to review the Bandai Tamashi Web Limited Super Robot Chogokin SRC Go Nagai Wonderland Museum Mazinger Z Devilman Color. Wow, it takes a long breath to that all at once. This Mazinger Z is one of the current most sought after by Mazinger Z fans, mainly because it is an exclusive by Go Nagai, the creator of Mazinger Z.

I am very lucky to be given a piece from ishop, as this piece was sold out within hours it was put up online for pre-order. This is how insanely popular and highly in demand this piece is. And ishop2go is able to procure this limited exclusive item to its customers at a very reasonable price, similar to what our Japanese friends are paying in Japan.

Mazinger Z is colored with reference to Devilman in 3 shades of green. I call this a fusion of both Go Nagai's successful works. The color is very vibrant and glossy at the same time, and it looks fabulous when you put it under the light.

Articulation for this Mazinger Z is the same as the first SRC Mazinger Z released. However, it is good to know that they have fixed the none clicky joint problem for the left elbow.

The joints on the overall felt tighter than the original release so I suppose some improvements have been made to them. Either that or it is just purely because it is a new figure out of the box.

The jet scandler is also colored in green while retaining the glossy metallic red for the wings. This is just so Devilman!

An additional touch is also made to add in the Devilman logo on the waist belt of the jet scandler and makes this much more than just a repaint.

While this is a wonderful figure, it is difficult to get one, especially one at a reasonable price as secondary market prices have gone up a lot due to the rarity and demand for it.

Lucky for those of us who visit ishop2go, we managed to get this exclusive item at a reasonable price before it was sold out.

Toy World Hegemon (Not Transformers Megatron)

Hello everybody! Today I am reviewing a 3rd party toy by Toy World, Hegemon. Hegemon has a striking resemblence to the Transformers Megatron and it is crystal clear that this a 3rd party toy company's attempt to replicate the Megatron character that we are all so familiar with in the G1 Transformers cartoon.

First up is the gun mode. The gun mode is exactly to scale with an actual life size revolver and that is an excellent touch to begin with. Unlike the Takara Tomy Masterpiece MP-5 Megatron that transforms to an oversized gun, this one is just the right size. Sweet!

You can also add on the base and the silencer and make into an evne more impressive looking gun. I love how awesome the gun looks with the silencer. It looks way cool!

The robot mode of Hegemon looks exactly like Megatron and that's the way we want it. Unlike Takara Tomy's Masterpiece version that comes with scrawny feeble unstable legs, Hegemon's legs look sturdy and stable. And it is pretty obvious that the engineering of the legs and transformation is taken with reference to the Henkei/Classics Megatron, in a good way.

Hegemon is however not without his imperfections. The back is a little messy with all the kibble for the trigger and black gun handle covers, and for some people, it might be a little eyesore.

But no worries to that. You can easily remove the trigger and the black parts to give Hegemon a clean look for the back. And these parts can be reattached to Hegemon easily.

Hegemon is extremely posable and you can have him do many of the trademark poses of Megatron, such as him firing that mega cannon of his. It's also very cool that that scope has this red clear plastic inside. It looks as if the laser is charging and ready to blast any moment.

Hegemon also comes with 2 weapons, a sword and a mace. The mace is in reference to the G1 Transformers movie where Megatron and Optimus Prime fought to the death in Autobot City on earth. The sword is more like a replica of the chrome sword that came with the original G1 Megatron toy, though it was never used in the cartoon.

Again, here we see the amazing articulation that Hegemon has. Hegemon can do the kneeling pose with ease. I love this pose that you are looking at now. And as you can see, even the kibble at the back does not affect or obstruct most of the poses you make with Hegemon.

Hegemon is an excellent product by Toy World. In terms of the plastic quality, it is on par with the one that is currently being used for the Transformers Prime toys. It is sturdy and will not break easily. Transformation for the figure is relatively straightforward. You might need to refer to the instructions for the 1st few times but after that, you will be able to do it intuitively.

Hegemon is now available on sale at http://www.ishop2go.com/
Here's the direct link: http://www.ishop2go.com/productUR_033_PR_0000536_Prt_en.html

And for those who buy it from ishop2go, a set of free Decepticon logo stickers will be given free! These stickers can be used to add the emblem on Hegemon's chest or shoulders. There are small, medium and large stickers that you can use in many ways.

Bandai Super Robot Chogokin SRC Armored Core V UCR-10/A & Grind Blade Review

Today I am reviewing the Bandai Super Robot Chogokin SRC Armored Core V UCR-10/A & Grind Blade. Amored Core V is the first computer game robot that SRC has added into its portfolio. While I am unfamiliar with the robot, I must say that I am extremely impressed by the amount of details that went into the creation of this robot. In terms of diecast content, it has a considerable amount, mainly on the elbows, knees, groin and feet. This makes the robot feels quite heavy and that is a big plus point.

This robot is full of details from head to toe. As you look up close on the robot, you cannot help but be impressed by the level of details that was put into it. Every single part seems to be molded with precision and the amount of articulation it comes with is absolutely mind blowing. This robot may not look like it has a lot of articulation but it amazingly has!

It comes with 4 different guns and 4 different fists of which each fist is catered for a particular gun. At any one time, you can have 2 of the guns holstered on the robot's shoulders and have the other 2 held in its hands for some massive fire power.

The shield on the leg leg can also be opened to provide some cover for the robot while it continues to fire away on the front line.

While it has bulky shoulders, the articulation on the robot allows it to do even the most dynamic poses without any restrictions.

With 4 guns at your disposal, you are really spoilt for choice on which ones to display the robot with. I personally love this roundhouse machine gun.

And if that is not enough, you can get the separate weapon set, which is the Grind Blade.

The Grind Blade is a piece of sheer awesomeness. Just displaying it on its own, it is just massive and eludes a whole lot of power. Of course, Bandai puts in the same level of detail for the Grind Blade, paying attention to even the minute detail.

The Grind Blade is connected in 3s and can be opened up for all 6 blades to be aligned. Each of these blades can also move on their own on a ball joint.

Even after assembling the Grind Blade to the UCR-10/A robot, it stands very well and does not cause it to go off balance or fall off to the side of the Grind Blade. This to me is another great plus point and a good reason why the Grind Blade is completely made of plastic.

Even if you lift the Grind Blade up, the whole robot is still very well balanced and this allows you to create a lot of cool poses without having the frustrations of the robot falling over. Of course if you want better balance, it comes with a stand that you can insert into the Grind Blade to support it.

The Amored Core V UCR-10/A and Grind Blade are excellent additions to the SRC series. These 2 are very under rated as they are from a game and not any anime. However, once you see them in the light, you will be very tempted to get one for yourself.

The Amored Core V UCR-10/A and Grind Blade are available for sale at http://www.ishop2go.com
